Things to Think about BEFORE you Invest in a dog like this ...
Everyone hears “bite dog” or personal protection dog and they fantasize about having one, but the truth is they are far from the right fit for everyone and contrary to belief regardless of training most puppies are not genetically engineered for success in this skill. These dogs are high in price due to the rigorous level of training, fundamental breeding and time devotion they require to be efficient. These dogs can also become dangerous in the wrong home/environment or with the wrong owners. They require contestant skill refresher training and a dominant devoted owner.
· Most any dog can become an emotional support dog with enough time ,effort and training. The same can not be said for a protection dog. This skill is as much about correct training as it is about temperament and genetics.
· Takes a bare minimum of 6-8 months of training from a puppy. Once initial training is completed the dog will require periodic refresher training throughout the year to reinforce skill efficiency even after going to its new home. It is important for the handler / owner to participate in these refreshers.
· Not for the typical family setting. Wde train our dogs to never be intentionally harmful to their owners/ families but these dogs require a skilled, educated and dominate owner that willing to continue training and give this animal the physical and mental attention its extreme drive requires. Its is also important to remember these animals have high pray drive and a desire to work. They require far more energy consumption and designated job in order to not become aggressive, frustrated or destructive.
· To have a successful protection dog the perfect combination of pray/play drive, high intensity, bold personality dog and appropriate training must be combined. This combination is difficult to find and when it is it requires patience, dedication and a true understanding of the commitment.

Further protection training requires the puppy to remain at BTRR for a minimum of 6 months. Partial packages can be purchased and tailored to the needs and or desires of the owner. Some of these individualized partial packages can be purchased and completed while the dog remains with its new owner but requires the transport of the animal back to the facility regularly for training sessions as well as continual strict training reinforcement at home from the new owner. With these packages full guarantees are offered regarding command mastery due to heavy involvement of owner in training. BTRR is here to work with you and wants to see you and your dog flourish so we will work with you until we get it right, but further training sessions may need to be purchased to achieve desired results.
